THE CHICKS COME AS NEWBORNS. THEY COME TO OUR FARM AT JUST ONE DAY OLD
As soon as we take them in our hands, we care for them with great dedication, keeping their pens at the proper temperature and giving them food and water.
We also keep their space completely dry, renewing it whenever necessary.
LUMAGORRI FARMHOUSE CHICKEN, TRADITIONAL GENETICS OF SELECT ORIGIN
A rustic-breed chicken, with carefully monitored and controlled genetics. Thanks to these genetics and our breeding method, we obtain a healthy and sustainable product.
THEY LIVE ON SMALL, APPROVED OPERATIONS
Operations are approved based on the farm’s geographical situation, weather factors, and the location of the meadows.
The pens are naturally ventilated and lit throughout the entire process, with no forced or artificial systems.
THEY GO OUT TO THE MEADOW AT THREE WEEKS
Until three weeks of age, the chickens are kept in shelter. After this moment, the doors are opened so they can begin to go outside.
Weather permitting, the farmers encourage the LumaGorri Farmhouse Chickens to go out to the meadow every day.
NATURAL FOOD
We take care of our chickens, providing them with healthy and natural food based on fresh grass, corn (60%), and grain.
They also enjoy at least 2600m2 of meadow space, where they can run and fly freely and naturally develop their muscles.
SLOW-GROWTH CHICKEN
One of the LumaGorri Farmhouse Chicken’s features is the slow growth process, which lasts three months.
During this process, they grow freely on the meadows to guarantee compact and flavourful meat.
FREE-RANGE
We raise our LumaGorri Farmhouse Chickens on the meadows around our farms, with fresh grass. We always guarantee their freedom.
Our chickens are mainly hens. This, along with the breeding process, is what makes the LumaGorri chicken juicy and delicious.
